Engine:engine is an heart of an automobile.which convert heat energy to mechanical energy.

Types of engine in automobile:

• Internal combustion engine 
• External combustion engine 

Their are are two type of i.c engine:

1. spark ignition engine
2. compression ignition engine

Their are two types of spark ignition engine:

• petrol engine
• Gasoline engine

Diesel engine is also known as compression ignition engine.

• Compression ignition engine is also known as c.i engine.In c.i engines we use Diesel as a fuel and in c.i engines we use petrol or gasoline.

External combustion engine:it is also known as E.c engine.These engine are used in old train.In this engine the ignition of fuel were externely. Their is no combustion chamber compared to i.c engine.
